  • Citizen Decorating: Your Photo Submissions

Last fall we decided to add more product information to our site by posting feedback from past purchasers. One of the neatest things to spring out of this is the photo submissions we've been receiving.

This photo comes from a review submitted by saguarosam in Sedona, AZ. I like the way the patina finish and Scavo glass complement the rustic edging of the countertop. The bathroom lighting with multiiple lights is a wonderful look for the space. Great job and thanks for your submission!

Post update: Sorry, but the photo that accompanied this post is no longer available.

  • More Home than Outdoor

One of our lamps was featured in last month's issue of Southern California Home & Outdoor. The design of this red bamboo table lamp just strikes a sweet spot. It's a classic look and it deserves a little extra attention.

The jar shaped base has a glossy, laquered look that fits great with Asian-themed interiors. The shade has a great natural tone but still with a little gloss to complement the base.

This would look great with a living room seating arrangement to add depth and color. Look for more table lamp designs here.

  • Lighting Your Home Theater has a how-to article on setting up a home theater. With the impending switch to high-definition and flat screens, living rooms are doing double-duty as home theaters.

Our very own Michael Berman has a whole paragraph of tips for lighting home theaters. To easily get more adjustability I would also add wireless controls and twin torchieres.

Post Update 5-3-12: We're sorry, but the Bob Vila article is no longer available on Bob's website. But you can find more design inspiration and how-to lighting tips in the Lamps Plus Articles and Tips section

  • Oscar De La Renta's 2008 Spring/Summer Collection

I found this video from Oscar de la Renta's Spring/Summer 2008 runway show. It made me go back and look to see how his understanding of color and fabrics has been translated into the line of Oscar De La Renta table lamps we carry.

Post Update: Oscar De La Renta table lamps are no longer available. Sorry! Take a look at our designer lighting page to find similar looks.

  • Swag It!

These chandeliers hang from hooks you install in the ceiling and can be plugged into any nearby outlet.

Many of the designs have a cool retro look, but there are also lots of traditional swag chandeliers out on the market, so it's easy to add some swag style!

Swag chandelier lighting is a great option for when you don't have any ceiling junction boxes handy and you want to install overhead lighting.

  • Green Power

Nah, not that type of green, but green ogre power! Saw this and couldn't resist posting about it, especially when I read that it comes with a special 3D shade. Shrek and Friends Table Lamp.

Post Update 8-12-12: Sorry Shrek fans, but this table lamp design is no longer available. However, we you'll find more "once-upon-a-time" looks in our Kids table lamps section.
