It may seem weird to call an old motel room home, but you have to love the relaxed, contemporary style of this motel room turned Hamptons summer home.

As profiled in a New York Times story, the motel, built in the 1950s, was converted into condos in 1980. A New York real estate developer and his wife bought one unit, then two more to create the current space.

The look is simple, clean and uncluttered. It's a good look for any space, summer home or not. I love the tripod floor lamp in the main space and the matching contemporary swing arm lamps in the bedroom.
