Does the glass outer body of these lights catch any of the light and create an ambient glow, or does the light just shoot straight down and not illuminate the surrounding glass?
Jeremy b on Dec 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: You'll get a tiny bit of illumination on the side of the glass, but the vast majority of the light is directed downwards.

Bought Fall of 2012
This is a very attractive lamp. We bought two that hang over our kitchen island, and one over our kitchen sink. (there's recessed lighting in the kitchen, so we don't rely on these lights as primary source) The inside of the glass is challenging to clean, particularly up at the narrow top. About 1 1/2 years into its life, the one over the sink began to act squirrely - we'd play with the bulb to make it work. Finally gave out altogether. I'm wondering whether the higher moisture of being over the sink may have affected the lamp in any way? Hubby is struggling to take it apart and hasn't yet found any evidence of degradation in the socket or wiring. Hoping to find a replacement socket, but hubby is doubtful whether the socket can be disengaged (it's soldered in, not screwed).

Pros: Nice Down-lighting, Stylish

Cons: Difficult To Clean
