I like the lamp but the battery light bulb is inconvenient to have to charge if you use the light frequently.

The Great Cordless Lamp
It is perfect. We don't have to plug it into anything and can also use it outside on our patio table.

Disappointed
I really like the look of these lamps. I don't like that you have to unscrew the bulb & remove it to turn on the light. The answer to several of the reviews said that you only had to press on the bulb. Well, that is true, but you are pressing on the bottom of bulb which must be removed. Also one of my lamps was knocked off the table & it broke into too many pieces to be repaired. It just seemed to me that it broke too easily since it is made of cement and fell onto a rug.

The lamps are beautiful but you have to unscrew the bulb and take out to turn on/off. Only way to turn on/off is to unscrew the light bulb.

I've read other comments saying to press the bulb to turn on/off. How does that work when the bulb is screwed tightly into the bulb holder - it doesn't have any motion once screwed in. I haven't been able to turn it on/off that way. Please let me know what I am doing incorrectly. Thanks.

Strange on and off switch
Love the lamp except for the fact that you have to unscrew the light bulb to turn it on and off. Very odd. I don't understand why they couldn't have put a switch on the side of the base.

Lamp Review
Beautiful lamp as described but the shade just "rests" on top of the bulb. Needs something to keep it in place. There is no way this would stay in place outside.

Cordless Lamp with a Major Design Flaw
I bought two of this cordless lamp for my living room, because I didn't want lamp cords trailing along the carpet as potential safety hazards. I thought this would be the perfect solution to this problem. Although the neutral and earthy look of the lamps look great in my Tuscan-style home, there is one huge drawback and one minor annoyance. In order to turn the lamp on or off or adjust the brightness of the bulb, you have to totally unscrew the bulb from the lamp to push a switch on the bottom of the bulb and then screw it back into the lamp! None of my family can imagine why the manufacturer of the lamp couldn't have used some kind of simple on and off switch to make the lamp function. This is a huge inconvenience! The other problem with the lamp is its base is extremely rough. Right now our new lamps are sitting on a couple of small table linens to avoid scratching the furniture. In the future I will probably place several stick-on furniture protectors around the base of the hollow lamps.

Quality Lamp in all but the on/off Design
I wanted a living room lamp for an end table far from a plug. I really like the way this lamp looks and it is heavy. A quality lamp EXCEPT to turn it off and on you must unscrew the lightbulb. Not a functional on/off design for a living room end table used as a reading light. It looks good, but I am really disappointed.

Quality cordless lamp--but inconvenient to turn on and off
Wanted a substantial cordless lamp that would work well as an end table lamp in a living room arrangement set away from the wall. Couldn't find many choices out there other than small accent/party lamps or bistro table lamps. Finally found this and I am basically very pleased with it. Luckily, the simple rustic design works well with the decor already in place. The one negative is there is no on/off switch on the lamp. You have to unscrew the light bulb (it never gets hot) ti turn the light bulb on or off or select the brightness setting. Not a huge bother in that the lamp(s) are not used on a regular basis, but I could see how it could be annoying if I used it to read by every day.
