Poor vision
This is my second lamp. I have macular degeneration and I can only knitt and read with this lamp. The light is wonderful and the lamp positions really helpful. The lamp its self is a little flimsy, especially at the base. A life saver for people w poor vision and reasonably priced.

Love It!
We love it's sleek, modern style. Excellent, adjustable lighting. Easily adjustable to fit any need. We have two on our patio.

Great LED lamp
Great floor lamp. LED lights are dimmable and very easy on the eyes but give good powerful illumination when needed for close up work. Highly recommend

In love
I needed a light that would not be in the way of family activities and such. This lamp fits every question that I had and the lighting is wonderful. It even tucks away so the grandchildren don't even know it is there. Thank You

Love these lamps, but all three that I purchased developed problems within the first two years.
I have purchased three of these Koncept Z-Bar lamps from Lamps Plus for my own use, because I like the design features. Although they were a bit pricey, each of the three lamps developed problems rather early (within 2 years of purchase). Receipt of the lamps from Lamps Plus was prompt and lamps were well-packaged. However, when all three developed problems within 2 years, Lamps Plus was not interested in helping get them fixed.
I liked this lamp for so many reasons and would definitely give it 5 stars if it weren't for the early failure of all 3 that I purchased and not being able to get them fixed. My vision is limited and the Z-Bar lamps were a lifesaver for me, because I could direct an intense light exactly where I needed it.
As an engineer, I think the design is downright ingenious. The means of transmitting power from the base to the LED unit is very clever, in allowing maximum rotation flexibility of the arms to direct the light just where it is needed, and cleverly avoids wear that would otherwise be caused by flexing or stretching wires as it is positioned. It is also well designed aesthetically, such that, even though it is very sleek and modern appearing, it also blends nicely into a traditional setting. It provides an easily controlled illumination from a very dim light to a very intense light that can easily be directed just where it is needed. It is available in both a black finish (which I like best) and a chrome finish and in a cool spectrum light or warm.

Love the look of this light!
This light is so incredible. It's easy to adjust the brightness with a simple touch of my finger! Great quality and great lines. It fits perfectly in my mid-century/contemporary living room.

Perfect for the Frail Elderly
I bought this lamp for my 89-year-old mother, who has multiple chronic illnesses, very limited mobility, and not much pleasure in her remaining life. Everything is difficult for her, and for that reason, everything around her is "unsatisfactory." This lamp is the single exception in many years of trying to finding equipment to accommodate her increasing needs. In fact, it is the ONLY item that I have purchased for her that she has gratefully acknowledged.
Prior to this purchase, my mother was reading books in the bed while holding a flashlight over the pages in order to focus enough light on the print. Conventional lamps couldn't focus light, and the on / off switches were too difficult for her to turn with fingers numbed by stroke damage.
My mother found that, not only could she focus the Koncept light exactly where she wanted it, but the light didn't create heat, she could very easily remember where to find and use the adjustment switch, and she could easily move the arm out of the way and aim it upward to provide soft general lighting in her bedroom.
She liked the lamp so well, she wanted to recommend it to members of her small social circle. Take note Koncept marketing department: it might not be sexy, but aiming your advertising to the end-of-life demographic could result in a lot of sales. Think AARP.
The only negatives to the lamp are that a tool is not provided in order to turn the single minuscule Philips head screw, and the base needs far more weight in order to provide better stability in rooms occupied by people who have impaired motor skills.
Pros: Easy to Clean, Easy to Move and Change Angle of Bar, Area of Illumination, Good Size, Works Equally Well as Down Light and Up Light, Artistic Design, Easy Assembly, Easy On, Off and Dim
Cons: Kit Should Include Phillips Screw Driver, Base Needs More Weight
Best Uses: Bedside, Reading

macular degeneration
My mother loved reading the morning paper everyday. Her macular degeneration was getting worse and this was becoming a problem to read the paper. We purchased the light and she can now read the paper and her news magazines. All with this disease should try these lights.
Pros: Easy Assembly, Good Size, Area of Illumination

Very Happy with this Lamp
I liked the Gen 2 of this Koncept lamp so much that I purchased another Gen 2 and this Gen 3 model.
The Gen 3 has two additional features over the Gen 2. 1. The placement of the on/off and dimming control is on the upper arm rather than on the base rod, which is a more convenient placement. 2. The Gen 3 version has more LEDs more levels of dimming, neither of which a re a significant advantage to me.
Although I like this lamp a lot. However the additional features of the Gen 3 over the Gen 2 are not worth the price increase to me.
Here is what I like about both lamps:
I originally bought it as a reading lamp, but found that it also makes an excellent computer lamp. I can easily adjust it so the source document on which I am working is well illuminated, while avoiding glare by positioning it such that it does not shine on my computer screen.
This is a fantastic lamp for any function for which you want the ability to have high intensity illumination, with a broad range of adjustment on the positioning of the illumination.
It would also be excellent for a hobbyist or someone doing very precision work needing illumination.
It also serves as a nightlight when dimmed.
It is cleverly engineering in such as way that the rods, which serve as structural elements also conduct the electricity. Thus, the lamp has a very slim profile, and there are no embedded wires to twist and eventually fail as the positioning of the light is adjusted.
The LED bulbs should provide long-life, economical lighting.
Although this lamp has contemporary styling the black finish with the slim profile of the lamp is so unobtrusive that it blends right into my traditional décor.
Pros: Illumination Intensityt, Cleverly Engineered, Variable illumination, Ability To Dim, Quality
Cons: Pricey
Best Uses: Intense Illumination, Night light, Computer Lamp, Reading

Decades ahead of other craft floor lamps
It is very expensive but worth every penny if you are elderly like me and perform tiny craft projects. Put it together in 5 minutes by myself. The incredible way all three pieces move. Once you have placed it where you want the light to shine, the light bar rotates (without having to move the arm itself) so you can tip the light toward or away from your eyes. AND THE FINGER SLIDE REOSTAT IS TO DIE FOR. LOVE IT. Best light investment I ever made. Also has great warranty
Pros: Takes Up No Space, Good Size, Easy to Clean, Takes Up No Space In Room, Easy Assembly, Bright Enough For Crafts, Area of Illumination, Artistic Design, Led Lamp Wands Rotates, Sturdy
Cons: Absolutely none
Best Uses: Reading, Bedside, Living Room

Nice light
This is an extremely functional light. Not cheap and not very sturdy, but gives great light and little heat. I've had it for 2 months and it will hold up if you don't let the kids get to it.
The lack of heat allows you place the light between your eyes and a book so there's no shadow. The light bar rotates so you can eliminate glare. This light is excellent for laying back in a recliner and reading.
i'm going to get another and give it as a gift
