Will this picture light shine down wide on a painting that is 45" wide, Or just light up the center?

BEST ANSWER: I have it over a 40" painting it does light it up fairly nice, but you will need to stock up big time on AA batteries.
Because of that I only turn it on when I have guess.
Do it come with a remote?

BEST ANSWER: For this picture light, painting width should be at least 14 inches. Length of the picture doesn't make as much of a difference.

BEST ANSWER: This will approximately illuminate an 18" - 35" wide picture. This model does not include a hand-held remote. The dimmer switch is located one the side of the light head.

Excellent picture light !
This is an excellent value. The picture light provides nice illumination of my glass-framed photographic print (with no glare on the glass). The dimmer switch goes from full bright to low dim, and everything in between these two extremes; in other words, this is not simply a 2-option dimmer (e.g., "bright" vs. "half-bright)."

This light EATS BATTERIES
This light looks OK but will go through batteries like crazy. Get it if you need a little bit of light now and again, but NOT if you want it lit up to illuminate a sign or art on the wall, because you will need to change the batteries every other day.

Lightweight, affordable, AND stylish
My only misgiving about this fabulous picture light is that I had wished for more metal and less plastic in it's design, but then I suppose one sacrifices the lightweight factor. Beyond this, it is elegant, easy to install, and 'affordably green' (a big plus!).

Perfect choice!

We came back to buy more!
These made our artwork pop! Oil paintings, acrylics, even prints. They go up easy (they even supply a paper diagram for spacing the holes and a little level). And they don't get in the way during the day. If you're spending money on artwork, it's not complete without good illumination.

OK But,
The 13 inch, battery powered picture light is ok but we were expecting more light over the entire length of the picture. After installation, we were disappointed that the 24 inch high picture lacks illumination on the bottom half. The light could use more lumens! (more powerful batteries?)
