BEST ANSWER: Hi – There are various guidelines on where to place your wall lamp next to your bedside. One of the most important things to consider is whether or not you are able to reach the switch/lamp without getting out of bed. Just consider to be able to reach the switch from a sitting position in bed. Place the light high/low enough where the bulb is not seen from underneath the lamp shade and glaring in your eyes.
Are wall has built in wiring where the lamp is placed. This allows us to hard wire the light. Does this light work for that? If not, can you recommend swing lights of a rustic style that will work?

BEST ANSWER: As high up as the cord & rod will allow. We got a 30" rod to cover cord, and top of back plate of lamp
is 55" from floor.

The photo looks like there is a cord cover along the length of the cord hanging down. Is that correct?
AND can this lamp be turned on via a wall switch if the outlet is set up that way?

BEST ANSWER: The cord cover displayed in the image is not included. It is sold separately. The lamp can indeed be used with an On/Off wall switch. I have attached the coordinating cord cover.

Bedroom lights
Nice Looking! Made well. I bought one for either side of the bed. They have dimmers and they work very well. I'm very pleased with my selection.

Great lamps but just FYI.
The lamps are great quality. I do feel for the price, they should come with a cord cover. Also, this was probably an oversite on my part, but the bronze is glossy, not matte. Overall, they are beautifully made and I love having a dimmer!

Great light and great service from Lamps Plus

faulty construction
The lampshade post was not aligned parallel with the mounting plate, so the lampshade was cocked when mounted. The second lamp had the same problem.

Also, regarding the bulb, this design uses a 60 watt maximum bulb, which is not included. However, some halogen bulbs use 48 watts to provide a similar light output. Nice Lamp!
I like the idea of the double arm for sturdiness. My problem is I cannot use a lamp that only takes a 60 watt lamp. Where would you put such a dim light? I did not notice in the description that it was limited to a 60 watt. Need to return.

If you need more light output, consider using a dimmable LED bulb with a higher wattage equivalency. There are LED bulbs that are as bright as a 75 watt or 100 watt incandescent, while staying cool to the touch and lasting longer than the average incandescent.
