Hello. I want to install this since lamp where there is no light fixture so I'd like to know if the cord can be plugged into an electrical wall socket. Does anyone know? T
Thank you!
A shopper on Aug 8, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Of course, the cord may be plugged into the wall socket. In this case, the switch/regulator on the lamp will be used to turn the lamp ON. But if you have the switch-connected wall socked at the close proximity from the lamp, you can use it for the turning lamp ON remotely. Even without such a socket, you may use the radio-controlled (wireless) switch, which is installed in any wall socket. There are plenty of them on Amazon (varied design, power, and price), or simply pick it up in Home Depot or Lowe's. Also, it's a good idea is to use self-adhesive cable covers to hide the power cord.
Does this have an NTRL listing (UL, TUV, etc)?
A shopper on Jul 7, 2020
BEST ANSWER: This wall lamp is UL listed.
What is light wattage?
A shopper on Jun 8, 2020
BEST ANSWER: According to manufacturer, 60 W that is obviously related to the maximal power for the incandescent bulb due to the design of used lamp socket. I have used the 11W LED bulb that provides the light output compatible to the 75 W incandescent bulb that is quite enough for the reading.
I would not recommend to use more powerful LED bulb (if you'll find one). There is a problem. Yes, the incandescent lump transforms 90% of power into the heat while LED bulb converts a little less power (85%) to the heat. The difference is that the incandescent bulb RADIATES this heat as the invisible infra-red radiation, while the LED bulb generate the heat inside and thus heats the socket, which has to be intensively cooled, that is not supposed in the given light fixture.
Where is the on/off switch located?
Lisa B on Nov 2, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Your question made me laugh, because they hid the switch so well! Zoom in on the photo that shows the plaque that is mounted on the wall. The switch is the dark brown round thing that is not like the other two dark brown round things. Once you see it, you can't unsee it. By the way, this is a beautiful lamp. They describe the wood color as walnut, but is actually the red maple you see in the photo.
Is this suitable for a dark hallway? What is minimum width from wall
Jan M on Jun 10, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I would not recommend this for a hallway. You can place the shade against the wall but it will still stick out 11 inches. If it was high enough not to clonk you on the head the switch would be hard to find. I've bumped my head on mine more than once and it's next to a dresser. The shade corners are hard and sharp, and they hurt.
Has anyone installed this lamp in drywall, or does it need to be screwed into a stud?
A shopper on Feb 11, 2019
BEST ANSWER: It can be installed in drywall as long as appropriate plugs or butterfly nuts are used. The lamp is not heavy, but at full extension it does exert some force on the fasteners through the leverage of the arm.
Does the wall cord cover (as shown in photo) come with it?
Ducky on Aug 21, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It did not at the time I bought mine. I have covered the cord with some bare artificial tree branches I got at Hobby Lobby. Other than that, I love the lamp. The shade and wood color actually match a tall standing mission lamp I had purchased several years prior at Lamps Plus. Lamps Plus is a really good place to purchase light fixtures. They have an awesome selection. I LOVE going into the store to just look around.
How long is the cord?
A shopper on Nov 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This lamp has a 7 3/4" foot cord.
Can this can be direct wired?
A shopper on Oct 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it can be direct wired. Please note that any conversion to the fixture will void the warranty.
Is there any way to use an LED bulb instead of halogen? This is for a kid's bed, and I don't want him touching halogen. Thanks!
Laurie on Sep 23, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, you can use a standard medium based LED bulb.

pretty nice
finial screw too short, so wood cap couldn't be installed. Looks okay, though not as shown, but could be better.

The lamp arrived okay and was easily installed but I use CFL bulbs to save energy and money and this lamp which has a dimmer type switch flickers constantly and can only be used with the highest brightness or the flickering is intolerable. My problem was when I ordered the matching cord cover and it arrived in an enormous box stuffed and stuffed with inflated plastic bags. This item would have easily fit into a padded envelope and I was stunned at the waste.

Pros: Attractive Design, Adjustable, Lovely shade

Cons: Flickers constantly

Like it
I like the way they look in my bedroom and I can read in bed now. The only problem was the dimmer switch causes Compact fluorescent bulbs to hum and flicker. So I had to use incandescent.

Pros: Attractive Design, Easy To Assemble, Adjustable

Cons: Can't use CFL

These look great in our mission style bedroom. Position off to the side instead of directly above head as they are very bright. They look beautiful when you enter the room. Swing arms are very solid
